Unwavering in its dedication to its mission, National Enterprises participated in two significant events that reflected the organisation’s vision and values. These events provided valuable opportunities for learning and engagement with stakeholders, industry peers, and potential partners, further solidifying its position as a leading force in fostering entrepreneurship and economic growth.
An Evening with Jonny Wilkinson at The Palace of Westminster
On 14th July, National Enterprises Chairman, Alex Till, received an exclusive invitation from The Leaders Council to attend a special evening gathering at the prestigious Palace of Westminster. The event’s guest of honour was none other than the renowned Rugby player and influential thought leader, Jonny Wilkinson, whose remarkable career both on and off the field has earned him global acclaim.
The evening commenced with a productive networking session, setting the stage for meaningful interactions among entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and influencers.
The main highlight of the event was a captivating and thought-filled discussion on “Conscious Leadership,” led by Jonny Wilkinson. Esteemed political figure Lord Blunkett delivered an insightful introduction, paving the way for Jonny’s inspiring insights into conscious leadership and its application in both sports and the business world.
Jonny Wilkinson also shared profound lessons from his life experiences and the wisdom he gained from interviews with some of the world’s most respected thought leaders on his ‘I Am’ podcast. The conversation resonated deeply with the audience, particularly with entrepreneurs who aim to embrace living in the moment.
Expressing his admiration for Jonny’s perspective, Alex Till remarked, “Jonny’s insights into conscious leadership align perfectly with National Enterprises’ core values. We believe that fostering a culture of conscious leadership can create a positive impact on the business community and society as a whole.”
The Launch of “Democratising Entrepreneurship 2.0” by BIPC
Continuing its momentum, National Enterprises participated in the launch of the groundbreaking report, “Democratising Entrepreneurship 2.0,” by the Business & IP Centre (BIPC) on the same day, 14th July. The event celebrated the role of libraries as engines of economic recovery and growth, empowering entrepreneurs and nurturing innovation.
At the event, Alex Till joined key voices from the report, BIPC leaders, and various stakeholders to discuss the report’s findings. The report revealed the significant impact of BIPC’s National Network of libraries, operating under the acclaimed British Library.
According to the report, between April 2020 and March 2023, BIPC’s National Network supported an impressive 62,876 individuals, leading to the creation of 18,175 new businesses, generating 6,124 additional jobs, and contributing an impressive £168 million of gross value added (GVA) to the economy. The report showcased the vital role of libraries in democratizing entrepreneurship and fostering economic growth, especially during challenging times.
The success of BIPC’s National Network was made possible through funding from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport. This crucial financial support allowed libraries to serve as catalysts for economic recovery, providing entrepreneurs with valuable resources and guidance to turn their visions into reality.
Alex Till expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role libraries play in nurturing entrepreneurship and supporting economic development, commending BIPC’s National Network of Libraries for their contributions to creating an organised national newtork that works at a local level to benefit the community.
Reinforcing the Mission
Participating in these two events provided National Enterprises with an ideal platform to reinforce its mission of empowering entrepreneurs and driving economic growth. Through active engagement in discussions on conscious leadership and library-supported entrepreneurship, the organization showcased its commitment to values-driven initiatives that create a positive impact on the business landscape.
As National Enterprises continues to champion the cause of entrepreneurship, events like these exemplify the power of collaboration and knowledge-sharing to shape a thriving business ecosystem.
