More than 75,000 small and medium-sized businesses benefitted from business advice, knowledge and support from their local enterprise support organisation in June, according to a survey by the National Enterprise Network (NEN).
NEN asked its members for the month of June to showcase their diverse range of activities for aspiring and established entrepreneurs. This has allowed the NEN team to collate valuable comprehensive data offering insight into the tangible outcomes of these events.
The activities covered workshops, conferences, webinars, one-on-one meetings, and information provided to a range of businesses from start-ups and micro enterprises to SMEs, all of whom benefited from the resources and knowledge shared.
“After a month of rigorous data collection, we are thrilled to announce that the impact has been substantial,” said Carol Daniels, Operations Director at NEN. “In the month of June alone, our enterprise support members revealed that they have positively influenced an impressive 76,500 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
“This remarkable result emphasises the need to have a diverse range of enterprise support agencies in different parts of England, providing localised support, in order to continue propelling our economy forward.”
In the review, it was revealed that the different organisations were able to reach entrepreneurs in a number of ways. Newsletters were able to reach 11104 people, workshops reached 690 people, webinars reached 377 people, 1:1 meetings reached 441 people, and other activities reached 63888 people.
The survey helped NEN gain valuable comprehensive data offering insight into the tangible outcomes of these events, which will support its work advocating with key stakeholders and government departments for increased funding and recognition of the vital role played by entrepreneurial initiatives in driving economic growth and job creation.
NEN’s summer campaign reinforces the organisation’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship through supporting their members, and sheds light on the extraordinary work being done that brings lasting benefits to aspiring entrepreneurs and local economies alike.
