In November 2024, NEN Chairman Alex Till and Operations Director Carol Daniels had the honour of visiting Sweden at the invitation of Harry Goldman, CEO of NyföretagarCentrum. Founded over 40 years ago following a visit to England to study enterprise agency models, NyföretagarCentrum has become a vital resource for supporting small businesses across Sweden.
Their discussions focused on NyföretagarCentrum’s membership, the comprehensive data they gathered from small businesses’ inception, and their innovative approaches to working with women in business, refugee entrepreneurs, and migrant workers. They operate under a unified national brand, with funding from both major corporations and the Swedish government, highlighting the strength of public-private collaboration in fostering entrepreneurship.
Harry Goldman, who joined the NEN Conference & Awards this year, participated in both the main panel discussions and a breakout session on inclusivity. The exchange of ideas during their time in Sweden has laid the foundation for exploring collaborative opportunities to enhance NEN’s international offerings and broaden its support for diverse entrepreneurial communities in 2025.
